There's so much to love about spring! We're especially partial to the blooming flowers, so we created a modern take on a DIY spring wreath to welcome in the new season. When we first started work on this project, we were planning to wrap the wreath frame with burlap and cover it with handmade felt flowers. But sometimes once you lay out all your supplies, an even better idea comes to mind!
Spray paint your metal wreath frame and let dry. Two coats is best.
Cut felt in circles. The larger the circle the bigger the diameter of the flower. I cut my circles between 4-6 inches.
Cut the circle in a spiral pattern from the outside in. Keep your edge smooth to make the ranunculus looking flower. If you want some texture to the flower, cut a scalloped edge to your spiral.
Starting at the center of the spiral, start to wrap the felt around itself, creating your flower shape.
Secure outside edge of flower with hot glue gun.
Use glue gun to adhere securely the flowers onto the frame in desired pattern.
Like we told you above, you’re going to love making these felt flowers. But they really do look gorgeous on a gold metal wreath. We might just have to keep ours up year round!
