Home decorating at Halloween is one of my favorite ways to celebrate this haunting holiday, so I loved creating this spooktacular look for a mantle and chandelier in my own dining room. Frightful feathered crows invade a crystal chandelier, observing passersby from above. The mantle sits below a crafty Witchy Things Wreath. Potion bottles and spooky spider webs drape the frightening focal point, providing high impact as Halloween home decor.
The mantle was a lucky find at an estate sale, it's actually part of an old fireplace surround that I painted and distressed, then mounted at the head of my formal dining room. This spot is a perfect opportunity to display Halloween holiday home decorations. The twelve arm crystal chandelier is another fantastic spot in the house to share my love for Halloween, and all the spooky craft ideas that go with it.
I started on the mantle by layering on some creepy cloth. I affixed the Witchy Things Wreath to the center with a length of tulle. Then, starting from the outside edges of the shelf, I added some black bottle vases, with poison charms wired onto their necks. A spooky bird spindle was placed on one side, along with this adorable sign that reads, "Happy Haunting". This sinister skeleton of a cat is the perfect size for my shelf, and it fit my overall theme of witchy things quite well!

I added a few glittered ceramic pumpkins that I created myself, some vintage silver candlesticks, and an old book that I truly believe looks like a real spell book! Mounds of gauzy spider webs were layered in, and you can see the culprit on top of the potion bottle, none other than a tiny glittering push pin spider. We've been finding them all over the house this season. The chandelier over my dining table is one of my favorite decorations in the house. There's something so inviting, yet glamorous about these classic lighting fixtures, especially with the lights dimmed for ambience. This Halloween; however, this stunning chandelier has been invaded by cunning crows. They've crafted a nest of curly willow branches and moss, and now observe us from their lofty position over the dining table. This look is remarkably easy to create. I draped creepy cloth gently over the lower section of the chandelier, then wired small bundles of branches together using thin, flexible floral wire. These were simply placed into the chandelier from different angles, where they balance on their own, due to their length. They're lightweight, so I'm not concerned at all that this will put strain on the fixture. Next, I wired feathered crows into the display. It's very convenient that they're pre-wired for easy attachment. Finally, I placed reindeer moss over the wires to conceal them, and my chilling chandelier was finished.
