Set the scene for a strawberry-themed bridesmaids' brunch with this backdrop that will give the feeling as if you and your guests have been transported to a beautiful strawberry farm. A mix of paper fans and florals lend a vintage nod to this classic theme and brings the outdoors in.
Begin by removing the artificial grass rolls from their packaging and rolling them out on the floor to flatten them out. Determine the placement on your wall, and then attach a generous amount of double-sided foam tape pieces to the back of each roll to adhere each to the wall, stacked one directly above the previous one. I used a total of five artificial grass rolls for my backdrop.
Next, open each of the red gingham paper fans and the red polka dot fans and secure their ends together with hot glue. Since you will be gluing the fans directly to the artificial grass rolls instead of hanging them, you can cut the tops off of each fan.
Create a few accompanying fans by cutting a 12x12 piece of scrapbook paper in half and then folding each piece back and forth on the short end accordion style. Next, fold each piece in half and hot glue the sides together. Join the two pieces together with a bead of hot glue down the center.
Once you have created the desired number of paper fans, begin gluing each fan to the grass backdrop, starting on the left and working your way to the right, layering the fans slightly in front of each other as you go.
After attaching all the fans to the backdrop, tuck a few sprigs of greenery, white hydrangea buds and light pink flowers here and there for added interest.
Next, inflate a mylar love balloon using the straw included in the package and then paint with light pink paint. Depending on how light the color of the paint is, you might need to apply a second coat to fully cover the balloon. Be sure to paint the sides and a bit of the back as they will show when looking at the backdrop from the side.
Finally, use double-sided foam tape to attach the balloon to the backdrop and then step back and admire your work!
