Open up and pass out a spring scavenger hunt bag to each child. While on a nature walk, children have fun finding all of the colors pictured on the front of the bag. After finding an item, children place the object inside their bag. At the end of the hunt, children can sit in a circle for show and tell to share the different items found in nature.

Place each of the items back in the white treat bags for safekeeping so children can create a paper plate suncatcher craft.

To create a spring suncatcher craft, trace a bowl on the back of a lime green paper plate or a pink paper plate with a pencil. Use scissors to carefully cut out the circle in the center of the paper plate.

Use the same bowl to trace two more circles on a sheet of clear contact paper. Cut each of the circles out a little larger than what you traced in order for them to cover and overlap the open circle on the paper plate.

Peel the backing off one of the contact paper circles. Place it on the front or back of the hole in the center of the paper plate. Use your fingers to press and adhere the edges of the contact paper to the paper plate. Lay out the color scavenger hunt items from the treat bags together with the paper plate with the sticky side of the contact paper facing up.

Children use the items in their treat bag to make a design on the contact paper center of the paper plate. You can cut items to make them smaller, use individual flower petals or press down whole flowers.

After children are happy with the design they've made on their paper plate, peel the backing off the second circle of contact paper. Place it over the sticky side of the other contact paper and design created on the paper plate. Use your fingers to press down and adhere the contact paper around the rim of the paper plate.
