Which came first—the bird or the egg? In the case of these sweet, springtime feathered friends, it was definitely the egg! With simple craft supplies like pom-poms, felt, and feathers (of course!), make this beautiful bird craft from unfinished wooden eggs with your kids to celebrate the season.

Paint wooden egg with acrylic paint. Let paint dry.

Glueyarn pom-pom to top of the painted wooden egg, slightly askew.

Fold black felt in half and cut a triangle on the crease (once open, it looks like a diamond). This becomes your beak. Then, cut very small circles from black felt as eyes. Glue in place onto the pom-pom.

Gluefeathers to the sides of the bird egg.

Mix white paint into your original paint color and paint an oval on the front of the bird. These little birds are a perfect way to add a splash of spring color around your home.  Add them to a shelf or in a wooden bowl as a fun bowl filler.
