This month’s Craft Supply of the Month challenge was a blank slate for creativity – literally! We were given 4 x 4″ plain white art canvases to create anything we wanted to! We came up with the idea of making canvas art showcasing our favorite states! We used the silhouettes of a few of the states we have lived in – California, Indiana and Georgia! This DIY States Canvas Art project is a great craft to do as a family and even makes the perfect gift for friends! Add a sweet little heart sticker to your favorite city to show your home town pride. Be sure to download the Free State Printable here!
Paint the 4 x 4″ canvases any color you like. I love using the 6 x 6″ scrap box paper to get an idea of the colors I wanted to mix and match. Let dry.
Print the printable states’ template (if you are using CA, IN or GA) or create your own template by finding the image of your state online and size to 3 x 3″. Cut the state silhouette out. Download the Free State Printable here!
Trace the state onto the colored card stock paper.
Apply Mod Podge® to the back side of the state and stick to the painted canvas. Let dry. You can apply a layer of Mod Podge® to the canvas if you would like.
Next add a heart sticker to your favorite city on the states!
