Get a group of friends together and make an entire forest of these colorful Christmas trees! Kids will love getting to try their hands at decoupage. This craft uses pre-cut mini tissue paper squares, making it simple to add them to foam cones with Mod Podge® and a brush. Once dry, have fun decorating your trees with mini wood stars, pom-poms, or other fun embellishments. The options are endless, and the more colorful the better!
Start by adding a thin layer of Mod Podge® to a foam cone with a brush. Work on a small section of the cone at a time, pressing mini tissue paper squares into the Mod Podge as you go. Then brush a little Mod Podge® on top of the tissue paper squares to make sure they are sealed to the cone. These craft trays are a great way to protect your surface for this project.
Add a star to the top of your tree by painting a small wood star with yellow glitter tempera paint and adhering it with craft glue.
Once the tissue paper and Mod Podge® is dry, you can finish decorating your tree by gluing on small pom-poms and additional wood stars.
Make an entire forest of Christmas trees for a pretty mantel or table display! In addition to the foam cones, you can also decorate smaller cardboard cones with the tissue paper.
