Hang your tissue paper fan up on a table easel. If you don't have an easel you can put it down on a table or even try this on the grass outside. Invite your toddler to spray the fan with several spray bottles filled with liquid watercolor or tempera paint mixed with water.

Kids love to spray. One of the great things about these tissue paper fans is that they come in packs of 12 so once one fan looks saturated with color, you can replace it with another. The fans can get pretty soggy with a lot of spray so you may want to replace them with a fresh one every few minutes. Or just let it sit to dry for a day once your toddler has sprayed and sprayed and sprayed.

We also tried this same activity using droppers and liquid watercolors in baby jars. The paper fans got wet pretty quickly but it was still fun. You can also drizzle glue and glitter if you try it laying flat on a table.
