There are lots of unique ways to ask your bridesmaids to join your wedding party, but the littlest members of your day need a fun gift too! Wow your flower girls with these colorful and treat filled will you be my flower girl piñatas! Most piñatas need to be broken with a bat or scissors. But since these piñatas are meant for children I have made them easy to open. Rather than sealing the top of the box to the bottom you are going to leave them separate so that your flower girls can easily open to reveal the goodies inside. The first step to creating these piñatas is to cover the bottom portion of your box with tissue paper. Cut a piece of tissue paper that is about an inch wide. Then using glue apply this piece of paper to the bottom rim of the box.
Next cut your tissue paper into 1/2 inch long strips. Then “fringe” the strips of paper with your scissors.
Once you have cut enough paper to cover the top of your heart box it is time to start gluing! Glue the first piece of fringed paper at the bottom. Make sure to only glue the top of your paper and avoid gluing the fringe. Place the next piece of fringed paper so that it overlaps half of the first. Work your way up the face of the piñata until it is completely covered.
Fill the inside of your piñata with goodies your flower girls will enjoy. I absolutely loved these rhinestone rings as a kid so I included those, pink chocolates, and diamond ring confetti. Using cream card stock print out our free printable “will you be my flower girl” card to include inside your box.
Complete your flower girl piñatas by using sticky letters to add cute sayings to the top. I used Conversation Heart sayings but you could add anything you want!
