Here’s a recipe for fun; an easy DIY Wood Kitchen Sign. This crafty creation whips up quick, and can be customized to just about any personal style. We embellished this sign with red geraniums, but the project can be made to match any kitchen or home decor color palette. This fun decorative piece is a great enhancement to a Stock the Kitchen Bridal Shower, or for any occasion.

Lay out your supplies, and unroll the Kitchen Wall Decal so that all of the words are visible. You may wish to use the lettering in the configuration provided, or to trim out a section with just the words you like, which is what we did.

Once you’ve decided on the layout you’ll be using, use scissors to trim out the pieces you’ll need. Cut an equal amount of transfer film. (It’s included in the package, which is really convenient!)

Remove the backing from the printed sheet, and apply your trimmed transfer paper. Rub hard to transfer the black print onto the transfer paper then lift away, as shown. Press the transferred image onto your wood tray where you’d like it to be situated, and repeat the rub-on transfer process, then lift the film away to reveal the transferred image.

We added a section of print to our sign as well. You can see that once the transfer film is removed, the sign has the look of a custom printed item!

Across the top edge of the wood tray, add three or four small clothespins, which can be used to hold photos, message, or even recipes. We applied them with hot glue.

Break up a red geranium bunch, as show, including a few leaves in different sizes. Embellish the bottom right corner of the sign using hot glue, then layering in leaves and flowers until you are satisfied with the arrangement.

If you’d like, you can embellish your wood sign with Red Trims. We used a length of red cotton rick rack to give this DIY wood sign a charming, whimsical look. It matches our Kitchen Themed Bridal Shower and DIY Dishtowels perfectly!

Adhere a length of Red Ribbon to the back, to create a hanger that the sign can be suspended from, using hot glue.

The finished sign is simply adorable, and useful, too! It’s a fantastic accent for the kitchen, and can be used as a serving tray, then hung up when not in use.
