Wrap our DIY wood crosses with colorful yarn for a pretty effect. Have fun experimenting with different colors of yarn for a color-blocked look, or try variegated yarn or wrapping two colors of yarn at the same time! These crosses are the perfect Easter project or a fun faith-based craft for anytime of the year. The project is simple enough for kids of all ages to do.

Start by securing the end of a strand of colorful yarn to the base of a wood cross with hot glue (on low setting) or tacky glue. Begin wrapping the yarn around the cross.

To change the color of yarn just tie on a new color with a double knot and trim any excess. Continue wrapping the yarn, covering up the knot as you wrap.

Once you get to the middle of the cross, you can wrap the yarn around with an x-pattern. You can continue with the same color of yarn on the arms of the cross or add a new color. Continue adding yarn until you have covered the cross, then secure with glue and trim the end of the yarn.
