Something about these--they're missing a little appeal. However, I like the suggestion on staining them. That might make them prettier. They are simple, rustic, and do look just like shown. I was just hoping I'd taking more liking to them. For the price of under $10.00, I'm good with the purchase. Ordering is always great with this company--fast and item arrived in great condition.

Beautifully Well Made!
These candles are well-made, and I'm looking forward to "staining" with my craft acrylic paint to get a colored translucent appearance. To do this, put a little acrylic paint on a plate & thin it well with water. Apply with a baby wipe. While still wet, mist more water on the painted wood to thin even further & rub it down again with the unpainted section of the baby wipe. When it's dry, topcoat with Polycrylic or Mod Podge. Hoping I can add photo to my review when project is completed.

Can you paint these ?

  • BEST ANSWER: I bought these with the intent to paint them but I changed my mind once I saw them. They seem to have a light coat or finish on them and looked nice as they are. If I do paint them I would use a spray paint with a primer.
