You aren't limited to the Halloween decor at the store. It is much more fun to make your own! This painted wood "BOO!" sign is so simple to make and adds an eye-catching touch to a Halloween display. Just start with a wood plank sign, add a spider web placemat, and a glittery "BOO!". You can finish with some spider embellishments if you like. Prop your new piece of decor on your mantel like I did as part of my Creepy Crawly Spider Mantel!
Paint a wood plank sign with white acrylic craft paint and a foam brush. Let dry.
Paint the "BOO" sign from this set of Halloween wood signs with bright purple paint. I used the purple from this set of acrylic craft paints. Let dry.
Add a layer of purple glitter paint to the top of your BOO sign with a foam brush.
Glue a spider web placemat on the right side of the wood plank sign with hot glue. Remove the hangers on the back of the BOO sign by unscrewing them and then glue the BOO sign on top of the wood plank sign. You can also add some small spiders to your sign such as these spider embellishments if you like!
Display your new Halloween sign on a mantel or shelf.
