Looking good enough to eat, this faux chocolate rabbit centerpiece can be displayed year after year. With its sweet spring basket, colorful eggs and humorous signage, this project is sure to add a sense of fun to your Easter table. So, hop to it and make this easy centerpiece to add to your Easter decor today!
First, lightly sand the bunny prior to painting to help paint adhere. Next, paint a Textured Bunny Tabletop Decoration a rich, chocolate brown. 2 coats of paint are required.
Next, paint a Rectangular Basket white and the paint the handles a fresh, spring color. I used pink!
Fill the basket with Multicolor Easter Grass and add Pastel Printed Plastic Easter Eggs, Palmer® Chocolate Carrots and a Palmer® Chocolate Bunny.
Cut a 2" circle out of pink card stock.
Glue a paper straw to the back of the circle to create a small sign. Next, use a chalk marker to write "Don't eat me!" on the front of the sign. If you have a vinyl cutting machine you could simply cut the phrase out of white vinyl.
Place the sign in the corner of the filled basket then set the dry faux chocolate bunny into the basket.
Next, cut one of the ears off two DIY Bunny Stand-Ups.
Paint the bunnies chocolate brown and the stands pink to match the handles on the basket.
Once dry, use a chalk marker to draw a speech bubble with "What?" written in it....bunnies without ears can't hear so well! You could also cut the bubble and phrase out of vinyl and adhere to the body of the bunny.
Next, glue a small craft bow tie to the bunny's neck.
