Coming up with new and creative place cards is one of our favorite parts of styling a party. And it’s even more fun when we get to create them for one of our favorite holidays! We are obsessed with these DIY Wood Eggs and knew they would be the perfect starting point for our Easter themed place cards. With just a few coats of color blocked paint, some decorative details and fresh, spring florals, our DIY Egg Place Cards became one of our favorite details of this Modern Easter Party!
Begin by painting the bottom portion of the DIY Wood Egg light pink. We applied 3 coats of paint, allowing the paint to dry in between coats.
Once the light pink paint has dried, place a piece of painter’s tape diagonally on the DIY Wood Egg.
Next, add 3 coats of Magenta Acrylic Paint to half the Egg and allow to dry.
After the paint has completely dried, remove the painter’s tape and place a piece of Gold Washi Tape over the diagonal line where the two paint colors meet.
Fill your Egg with a few color coordinated fresh flowers. We included tulips, carnations and greens.
Take an Alphabet Sticker and adhere it to a toothpick. Place it into the florals in the Egg. You now have a modern, personalized place card perfect for your Easter celebration!
We placed these cute little place cards in gold tinted miniature birds nests on each setting at our Modern Easter Party. We just love the way they turned out!
