Paint 6 DIY Unfinished Wood banner Squares with a rounded square of white acrylic paint and 1 with a light blue rounded square. Allow time for the paint to fully dry.
Making the buffalo plaid is super easy. We are going to be using washi tape to make painting the perfect lines a breeze. First, we need to take some, not all, of the sticky off of the washi tape. To do that simply place the tape on your shirt or pants and remove it. This will make the tape a little less sticky. Next, apply the washi tape to the white painted wood square.
Apply another piece of washi tape directly beside the first one. This piece will serve as a guide for spacing the tape exactly the same width all the way across the banner square. Place another piece of washi next to the second one and then remove the second piece of washi tape. Continue this across the entire banner square, reusing the second piece of washi.
Mix two different colors of gray paint by adding 1 and 2 drops of black acrylic paint to white paint. Use a flat-bristled paintbrush to paint the lightest color gray paint in between the tape. Allow time for the paint to dry and remove the washi tape.
Repeat step 3 & 4 except with the tape going in the opposite direction.
To make the black squares easier to fill in, simply use a black permanent marker to trace and fill-in all of the overlapping squares.
Paint 6 Unfinished Wood Circles and a DIY Unfinished Wood Shamrock Ornament with acrylic paint and a flat-bristled paintbrush. Allow time for the paint to dry.
Use a black permanent marker to cover the top of Chipboard Multicolor Alphabet Stickers and stick each of them onto a DIY Wood Circle.
Apply a Velcro™ dot to the back of the wood circle and adhere the wood circle with the Velcro™ dot to the middle of the buffalo plaid wood banners.
Use hot glue to adhere white wool pom-poms to the bottom of the wood banners.
All there is left to do is string the wood banner onto a piece of jute cording and hang it up!
