When I was little I was absolutely obsessed with Nature Print Sun-Sensitive Paper. If you’ve never used it before, it’s a sunlight print where you place objects on top and once exposed to the light, it leaves the design of your objects. It’s like magic for a kid (or a crafty adult like myself) and I’ve been dreaming about making table numbers with it for quite a while now, so I’m thrilled to be sharing this idea with you! Using items or shapes that are specific to your wedding/party theme – arrange them on this paper, put in the sun and get excited to have made one of the most unique table number ideas online!
Working in a place in your home that isn’t in direct sunlight, remove the Nature Print Sun-Sensitive Paper from it’s black sleeve. Place onto a piece of cardboard and stabilize using a simple sewing pin. Then start creating your design with any found objects you have. Here I pinned fern leaves to the cardboard to hold them in place and then used Alphabet & Number Sponges as the table numbers!
Expose! Take your board outside and expose your design to direct sunlight for 30-60 seconds or until you see the paper turn a very light blue. Keep in mind that shadows will show up and so will slight movements or direction change so keep still while exposing.
Carefully remove your found items and rinse your paper to set the design. You will see some blue transfer rinse off and reveal your sun print, the blue actually changes to white – it’s super cool. If you don’t do this step the design will fade away! Lay the paper flat to dry.
Quickly iron to smooth.
Frame your print!
