Create a DIY Piñata Guest Book for guests to leave well wishes for the happy couple. The couple will break open the piñata on their 1st anniversary to celebrate their first year together.
Start by drawing the letter of the couples soon-to-be last name onto the cardboard box.
You will need two identical "L" cardboard pieces cut from the cardboard using a box cutter or craft scissors.
You will also need to cut strips of cardboard about 4 inches wide. You will need enough to wrap around the letter. Bend the cardboard strips to make them more pliable.
Using pieces of Duck Tape, tape one of the 4" strips onto the edge of the first letter. Continue on the other side.
Tap the second letter on to the other letter. Continue to close up the entire letter with the 4" strips.
Cut red, pink, and yellow tissue paper and the metallic gold streamer into long 2 inch wide strips (the long way). You can cut at least 8 tissue paper pieces together. You will need about 20 strips total.
Next cut 1.5-inch slits in the tissue paper. This will be the fringe of the piñata.
Use glue to adhere the tissue to the piñata. I glued it on the front, then wrap it around to the back. Start at the bottom and move to the top.
Continue to alternate colors and layer the tissue paper strips of fringe up the pinata until it is completely covered.
Using a craft knife of scissors cut a large opening in the top of the letter. Make sure it is large enough to fit the notes guests will leave for the happy couple.
Set the DIY Piñata Guest Book out and let guest write notes of encouragement, advice and love for the happy couple to read on their 1 year anniversary.
