Your last splash back-to-school bash isn't complete without some DIY crafting fun. For party favors you can whip up some sparkly shark slime in just a few minutes. It's easy to make, fun to play with and will leave your guests with a little parting favor as they leave the party. So gather up your supplies and get ready to get your hands a little messy, it's time to make some slime!
Start by gathering the supplies you'll need. For this recipe you will need Elmer's clear glue, Borax, iridescent glitter, food coloring, hot water, a large bowl, stirring spoon, measuring spoons and a measuring cup.
Grab a large bowl and mix 1 cup clear glue and 1 cup room temperature water together. Add in a little sparkle with some iridescent glitter. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup hot water and 1 teaspoon of Borax (this step is safest for adults to handle). Mix well for one minute, add a few drops of blue food coloring. Add Borax solution into the large bowl of glue and water. Your slime will start to clump up so make sure your stir vigorously until most of the liquid is gone.
Go ahead and get your hands dirty. This slime turns out best when worked through little hands. As you mix it up and play with it the slime will stiffen up. My little helpers took a small amount and played with it until it was all mixed together. If your slime is too stiff you can add some saline contact solution to loosen it up. Add a fun shark squirter and you have some instant fun!
For a quick grab and go party favor you can bag up your shark slime in a blue cellophane bag, tie it off with some colorful ribbon and add a fun Thanks for splashing by tag! Your pool party guests will be in for a treat when they play with their slime at home.
