Looking for a Day of the Dead activity to do with your kids? These masks are fun to make using the Sugar Skull Tissue Paper Sign Craft Kit. Kids get to cover them with tissue paper squares, add the foam details to create the sugar skull face and top with pretty Fiesta Flower Hair Clips. A large craft stick finishes off the mask to make a simple holder. These masks would be great for a Halloween party as well!

Start with the Sugar Skull Tissue Paper Sign Craft Kit. Separate the black foam skull which comes in two parts. Remove the adhesive from the outside border and carefully attach the border to the acetate sheet. It is ok if the border doesn't line up perfectly to the sheet. You can trim the acetate as needed. The foam is very sticky so don't try to remove it and reposition it!

Turn over the acetate so that the black border is facing down. Cover the acetate with a thin layer of Mod Podge® using a foam brush. Press the tissue paper squares into the Mod Podge, overlapping slightly so that the acetate is completely covered. Cover with another thin layer of Mod Podge to seal. Let dry completely.

Turn the skull over so that the tissue paper side is on the back. Trace a one-inch circle for each of the eyes on the front of the skull. Use a craft knife or sharp pair of scissors to carefully cut out the eyes (an adult should do this step). Be sure to use a cutting mat to protect your surface under the craft knife.
