Creating a backdrop for your event is a fabulous way to set the tone of your party while immediately transporting your guests into a thematic scene. We did just that for our Wicked Witch Inspired Halloween Party by putting together a simple and elegant backdrop that subtly epitomized the theme of our event. Full of bold black and white stripes, emerald watercolor and a bit of feathers and frills, this backdrop had us ready to dine in Oz with one of the most wicked villains of all time.
Using a Paintbrush, mix a bit of Green Paint with water then paint a piece of White Paper. Make sure to use varying stroke sizes and add more water if necessary to create a watercolor effect. Allow to dry.
Add a coat of Gold Spray Paint to a Picture Frame Cutout and allow to dry. Once dry, adhere the green watercolor paper to the frame using Glue Dots.
Download our Free "W" Printable then have it printed at your local print shop and request it be printed at 11" x 9". Once printed and cut, add a coat of black glitter spray paint and allow to dry.
Adhere the glittered "W" onto the green water colored paper using Glue Dots.
Trim a few Black Jumbo Duck Quills, a piece of painted Frosted Greenery and Hot Glue them to the top, right portion of the "W".
Hot glue a few Emerald Beads to the bottom portion of the feathers.
Hang a piece of Black and White Striped Gossamer across your wall then hang the framed, water color "W" portrait in the center using Double Sided Foam Tape. Your gorgeous backdrop is complete! Place a few themed desserts in front of the backdrop and enjoy your elegantly and eerie Wicked Witch Inspired Halloween Party!
