Creating a backdrop for an event helps to tell the theme and story of the party. For our recent Oh, The Places You'll Go Baby Shower, we wanted guests to feel as though the were stepping into the world of Dr. Seuss and his classic books. With a multitude of colors, character details, Seussian fonts and even some Truffula trees, this Dr. Seuss party backdrop and buffet will immerse your guests in everything Dr. Seuss!
Start by lining your wall with cloud bulletin board paper. Secure it in place with glue dots or tape.
Next, dress your table in a yellow tablecloth and add a simple paper roll runner.
Remove the hot pink, gold and silver tassels from the bright tassel garland and string across the front of the buffet. Add a few balloon cut-outs to tie into the theme of the table.
Flank the backdrop in two coordinating Dr. Seuss posters to add color and height to the table.
In the center of the backdrop, add the Oh The Places You'll Go bulletin board cut out along with some additional bulletin board details including clouds and balloons. Simply pop the cutouts out and adhere with glue dots.
Prop Dr. Seuss folders on each end of the buffet to mimic the appearance of the books.
Display two DIY Dr. Seuss Balloon Centerpieces on cake stands at each end of the buffet. These simple DIY pieces are a quick and easy project.
Serve up a simple dessert such as cupcakes and serve them on themed plates. We layered a themed dessert plate with a blue round dinner plate and dressed our cupcakes in pink wrappers to tie into the color scheme
In the center of the table add Truffula Tree Dr Seuss Favors or use them simply as decorative pieces. Add flag cut outs to the front of each favor.
