We’re taking a trip around the world for this week of Camp Fun! Grab your suitcase and passport and join us for a week of international exploration and fun. We’ll make one-of-a-kind World Map Wall Art and Earth Mobiles featuring our favorite parts of the globe. Campers will discover cool facts about far away places, pretend play with hats from cultures around the world, and will create flip books that showcase their own spot on the globe. You can never have too many coloring pages to keep campers busy during Camp Fun! Be sure to download our Free Around the World Week Coloring Page and set out with colored pencils, crayons, or markers for a quiet indoor activity.
Turn a blank world map into frame worthy wall art with this fun craft project that allows campers to get creative with watercolor paints, glitter, or any other craft supplies you have on hand! Decorate the maps, label the continents and oceans, and frame.
These world traveler posters of famous international cities such as London, Moscow, and Paris set the stage for Around the World Week! You can create a special activities area for this week of Camp Fun by putting the posters above a work table and setting out a small globe, around the world books and other Around the World Week supplies! As an added activity have campers find each of the cities on the globe and learn some fun facts about each of the cities featured in the posters.
Display the whole world in your window with these fun globe suncatchers. Have fun using suncatcher paint pens to fill them in. Whether you stick with the traditional green or blue or decide to make a rainbow colored world, your globes will look so pretty sparkling in the sun. Use a small suction cup to hang them in the window.
Spend an afternoon learning some interesting facts about the world and capturing them in your own Around the World Fact books. These hardbound story writing books offer the perfect balance of writing space and blank space for pictures. Campers can use these fun Kids Around the World foam stickers to decorate their books. This project is great for fine motor skills and results in a beautiful Earth! Just peel the glitter sticker dots and use them to fill in the respective circles on the globe. This Earth glitter mosaic sign comes in a set of 12.
The pretend play options are endless with this assortment of 12 hats from countries around the world. Ranging from a French beret, to a Jamaican beanie, to an Arab ghutra, this set has it all! Campers can have fun playing dress-up with the hats as well as learning about the countries where they are worn. This set is a fun addition to be worn throughout Around the World Week.
For a simple craft activity, have campers create an Earth from a paper plate using blue and green crayons or markers. Use these fun kids around the world shapes and flag stickers to decorate the paper plate globe. Finish by using a hole punch to create two holes on the top of the plate and loop a chenille stem through to create a hanger.
Take some of these inflatable world globes and head outside for some beach ball games! Try playing beach ball hockey by using pool noodles to hit the balls through two goals made by cones. Other game ideas include using the pool noodles to see how long you can keep the inflatable globes in the air without them touching the ground, or playing dodge ball with the globes. Of course, these beach balls are also great for studying the globe too!
