Fall provides the perfect opportunity to incorporate nature into your decor. Whether leaves, pumpkins, or acorns, the more the better! I created this planter box decorated with wood slices to add a pretty natural element to my fall-decorated front porch. It is the perfect size to fill with mini pumpkins, pine cones, and any other fall treasures that you want to display. You can repurpose your box at Christmas by filling it with evergreen branches and berries!

Paint the outside of the wood flower box with acrylic craft paint. I chose a chestnut brown color.

Cover one side of the wood box with small wood slices. I used one bag of these Small Unfinished Wood Slices and a bag of the DIY Natural Birch Wood Mini Disc Assortment to cover my box. Adhere with a small dab of strong craft glue such as E6000 to the back of each wood slice. Vary the sizes of wood slices and position close together to create a full, organic look. Continue adding until you have covered one side of the box.

Fill the box with fall treasures! I lined my box with a large roll of burlap and then scattered pretty faux metallic pumpkins and pine cones on top. I styled mine on a hay bale on our front porch, but this would also make for a pretty table centerpiece or mantel decor.
