Add some pizzazz to your Halloween decorations with this Gold Candy DIY Skull Banner. The pops of color and buffalo plaid make for such a fun and hip combination. Banners make holidays so much fun. We love to add banners to our Halloween mantel each year. The mix of painted gold skull candy heads, black pennants and colorful pom-poms make the perfect bright and happy Halloween decor!
Paint the Large Wood Sugar Skull Heads with bright gold paint. I used a brush paint inside, but spray painting is a great option.
Create cute pennants to add to the banner with layered black pennants and black and white buffalo plaid fabric. Use the black diy pennant as a pattern. Cut the buffalo plaid fabric to be about 1 1/2 inch wider than the black pennant.
Using a hot glue gun and glue gun sticks, glue the top of the black pennant to the top of the buffalo plaid pennant.
Create a loop for the Skull Candy Skeleton Heads. Use about a 3 inch piece of ribbon and hot glue the piece around the hole at the top of the wooden skull. You will use this loop to hang the banner together.
Cut small slits in either side of the black pennants at the top. Use this hole to lace twine through. Using the black twine, lace through the top of each skull ribbon tag, and through the black pennants. Alternating between each.
Hang the banner on your mantel or staircase for bright Halloween decor. Add a couple of Boho Pom-Pom String lights in front of the banner!
