Our creepy windsock bats will be soaring through the sky this Halloween, so be on the look out! Create these cute little Halloween critters with kid safe plastic jars, paint, googly eyes, craft foam, chenille stems and streamers. They are the perfect Halloween craft for beginners and only require a few craft supplies to get you started. Make sure to plan ahead and prime each plastic jar before using the colored acyrlic; the primer helps the paint stick to the jar better.

Use a white spray paint primer to paint the plastic jars. It is best to have an adult prime the jars. Once the primer paint has dried, paint 2-3 coats of black acrylic paint over the primer. Attach the bat's googly eyes with two glue dots. Cut two small triangles from the white self adhesive foam and stick onto the bat's face for fangs. Trace two "M" shaped bat wings onto black construction paper for the wings. Attach the wings with glue dots.

Cut 5-6 strips of black crepe paper streamers. Use glue dots to attach the crepe paper strips to the inside of the plastic jar. With a sharp piercing tool, poke one hole on each side of the plastic jar. Attach the chenille stem by inserting the stem into each hole to create the handle. Hang your Halloween bat windsock!
