Turn a faux pumpkin into a darling unicorn with this Halloween tutorial! We use an orange foam pumpkin as the base for a crafty unicorn. We made little felt flowers that add a little whimsy to the pumpkin. This will be a fun project to make with the kids. And you might just have to make the Mermaid Faux Pumpkin as well! Cut the unicorn ears from white and pink felt. The white ears should be about 3 inches x 3.5 inches tall. The pink ears should be 2 inches x 1.5 inches. Glue the pink ears onto the white. Download the Free Unicorn Pumpkin Printable Templates here to easily make the unicorn ears.
Using the hot glue gun, glue the bottom of the ears onto each side of the horn. Allow to dry.
Make some darling little felt flowers. You can see how to make the flowers using this simple tutorial. Make 3 pink, 3 yellow and 3 purple using felt and a glue gun. Adhere to the pumpkin using the glue gun.
Now add a little tail to your unicorn pumpkin. Glue a tissue paper tassel to the back of the pumpkin.
Cut two "U" shaped pieces from black felt, about 1.25 inches wide. Next, cut six pieces from the black felt, about .0.75 inches in length. Glue the six pieces onto the "U" shape, allow to dry.
