Your class is probably already filled with your very own adorable love bugs, but shouldn't those little cuties have some love bugs of their own? That's where our Love Bug Kids' Craft comes in! Your students will love painting and decorating their very own love bugs in this simple and stress-free craft.
Have each student paint a natural wood craft stick in the color of their choosing. We used various colors from the tropical acrylic paint set to match our classroom party colors.
Once the paint has dried, have the kids add 2 small self-adhesive googly eyes, and a small self-adhesive rhinestone jewel nose. They can then use a black marker to draw the love bug's smile.
Next have them attach a small, U-shaped black chenille stem to the top, back of the craft stick using a Tacky Glue. We cut our stems ahead of time to keep things on the move! They can then add 2 heart-shaped jewels to the ends of the stem using Tacky Glue. They now have some blinged out antennae!
Have them decorate the body of the craft stick with additional self-adhesive rhinestone jewels, heart-shaped jewels or a mixture of both. A simple dot of Tacky Glue will help adhere the heart-shaped jewels.
Finally, add a small dot of Tacky Glue to the pointed end of two felt self-adhesive hearts and glue them to the middle, back of the craft stick. These hearts make perfect wings for the love bugs. We know your little ones will adore making and playing with these love bug stick crafts and will be so proud of their creations!
