Here in the South, summer begs for a cold glass of home-brewed sweet tea. Sweet tea is a way of life down here and it’s always on-hand, especially during the hot summer months. While planning our Summer Seafood Boil I knew we would need a way to cool off from the heat, both from the hot Texas temperature and the fiery spice of the food, but I wanted something a little more extraordinary than just plain sweet tea. My husband suggested an Old-Fashioned Ice Tea Punch recipe his grandmother used to make and it was the perfect thirst quencher!
- 4 C. Homemade Sweet Tea
- 1 C. Pineapple Juice
- 16 oz. Ginger Ale or Sprite
- Juice of 2 Lemons
- Juice of 2 Oranges
- ½ C. Sugar
- Mint for Garnish
Make a batch of homemade sweet tea. When it’s ready, pour it into the large jar drink dispenser.
Add the pineapple juice and Sprite, stir to incorporate.
Add the fresh squeezed lemon and orange juice.
Add the sugar, mix until sugar is completely dissolved.
Add Ice. Garnish with lemon wedges and mint.
Serve this delicious old-fashioned ice tea punch in mason jars with the cute daisy mason jar lids and striped paper straws.
