Needing a twist on traditional Easter egg decorating? These glittered ombre eggs are a show stopper! They are super easy to make and will be a beautiful addition to any Easter egg basket or Easter egg hunt. And who doesn’t love glitter?
First, hard boil! Submerge eggs in a pan of water. Heat the water until it starts to boil. Turn heat off, cover pot and let eggs sit for 13 minutes. Carefully remove eggs from the hot water with a slotted spoon. Place the eggs in ice water to cool for 15-20 minutes. Drain and store the eggs in fridge until ready to use.
Remove the eggs from fridge. Thoroughly and gently dry each egg. Place a small piece of washi tape around the dry egg. This will help create a nice clean line with glitter.
Apply Mod Podge® using a paintbrush to one half of the egg. I applied the Mod Podge® to the more narrow end of the egg with the tip. Sprinkle your choice of glitter over the Mod Podge® surface. Shake off the excess glitter and place glitter side up in the egg carton.
Repeat steps 1-2 with each egg and color you chose.
Allow the eggs to dry for a few hours or overnight. Once the eggs have dried, gently remove the washi tape.
Arrange your eggs in an ombre pattern, from light to dark.
