For a unique unity cermony, consider an eco friendly wedding tradition with this Tree Planting Ceremony. A cocktail height table is designated as the display surface for a mustard and charcal wedding. The plant and potting items are displayed during the wedding ceremony. The couple and even their extended family members or bridal party each add soil and water from smaller containers to a larger one, planting a sapling tree together that will grow from that day on. This idea goes with our Fall Mustard and Charcoal Wedding theme. A custom Free Printable Label is included, as well!
Add a generous amount of potting soil to a large galvanized metal bucket. You'll want to fill the rustic container about halfway full.
Fill two tall galvanized metal vases to full, also with potting soil. These will be the containers that the couple adds soil from. You could add containers for a larger tree, or additional family members you may wish to include in the ceremony.
Adhere the printable "Plant One On Me" label to the front of the galvanized bucket and lace with a black satin ribbon.
Trim a length of black lace ribbon to fit the smaller galvanized vase, so that it will wrap around the entire surface.
Glue the lace in place with hot glue or glue dots.
Add a rhinestone embellished candy scoop to each of the smaller pails with a length of black satin ribbon. These will be used by the ceremony participants to add soil from their respective containers to the larger galvanized bucket.
At the ceremony, the couple can move the sapling tree from its nursery container into the large center bucket, and add soil to the top, as well as a bit of water from a set of pitcher shaped ceremony carafes.
