Your little zombies will love this bright and super fun zombie graveyard Halloween party backdrop. Not only is it super cute, it lets them know just what kind of party they are walking into. Mmmm, full of braaaaaains! They are guaranteed to love it! Follow this easy tutorial to learn how to create this fun tombstone filled backdrop that will set the stage for your kid-friendly zombie Halloween party.
First, set up the Tombstone Cardboard Stand-Ups Halloween Decorations according to instructions. Water down pale blue paint (approximately 1/2 water, 1/2 paint) to create a lighter paint wash. Paint the tombstones with the watered down blue wash.
Use stickers from the Zombie Pumpkin Decorating Craft Kit to decorate the skull face on the tombstone.
Remove the kid-friendly Zombie Photo Stick Props from their sticks and glue them to the gravestones.
Use the bright green masking tape from the Colorful Masking Tape Set to create zombie caution tape that's approximately 3 strips wide. Write "Caution Zombies" on the tape using a sharpie. Download the free zombie gravestone template HERE. Print out the letter template. Scribble over the back of the paper & words with pencil. Turn the paper over and use the same pencil to trace the outline of the letters onto the masking tape. Write over the transferred outline with sharpie. Alternatively, cut the letters using a Cricut™ cutting machine.
Wrap Rusty Barbwire Cord around the tombstones. Use Colorful Masking Tape Set to hold it in place at the back of the tombstone.
For additional decoration add a fun Halloween sign to the tombstones. I used an old "Keep Out" sign I had at home. The We're Dead Sign is a great alternative too.
Finally, spray paint an Adult's Rotted Zombie Hand apple green, adding small bits of red paint to nails and gashes to create a kid-friendly zombie hand. Place this in front of the tombstone as if it was emerging from the grave to complete the backdrop. Secure with glue if required.
