I'm wondering how large the opening of the hourglass is. I want to use it in my proposal. The women I am proposing to love hourglasses. Would a ring fit inside? (There will be no sand in it at the time) thanks for any feed back!

How much sand is required to make it an hour glass? Does it matter the size of the sand grain?
