Start by prepping the watercolor paint solution. I filled disposable spray bottles that I picked up at my local dollar store with about an inch each of pink and green watercolor paint, then topped them off with water. Shake to mix well.

Now it's time to get painting! I used a plain white sheet I had on hand, but you could easily use a white polyester tablecloth for this project. This part is messy, so painting outdoors is best. I used clothespins to attach my sheet to a few chairs in my backyard, and then sprayed my sheet with the watercolor paint. To create the look of a slice of watermelon, I sprayed the bottom 3' of the sheet green, then the top portion pink, and left a portion in the middle plain white.

After the sheet has fully dried, use the watermelon seed template to trace and paint black "seeds" onto the pink portion of the backdrop. You could also cut the seeds from black vinyl using your cutting machine then adhere them to the sheet.

To hang the sheet on the wall, I folded 4" pieces of pink satin ribbon in half to create tabs and then hot glued them along to the top portion of my sheet. I attached a total of four tabs to the top of mine, but you might need a few more if you're using fabric with more weight.

When you're ready to hang the sheet, simply loop the tabs onto Command™ Hooks, which have been attached to the wall.

Next, it's time to create the balloon garland. Begin by inflating 24 each 5" white latex balloons, 9" light pink balloons, 11" hot pink balloons and 11" green metallic balloons.

To attach the balloons to the black baker's twine, begin by knotting two balloons together. Then layer two couplets on top of each other and twist them together to form a quad. Lay the quad on top of the baker's twine and wrap the twine around the quad and then repeat, making sure each next quad sits up against the one before it.

Hang the balloon garland in an arched swag by using baker's twine to tie it to the same Command™ Hooks you hung for the backdrop.
