Cornhusk wreaths make such a big impact in your fall or Thanksgiving decor and are so easy to make. I started making this wreath with a 24" grapevine wreath base and a $3 package of cornhusks from my local grocery store. The wreath made a stunning addition to our dining room for our Thanksgiving meal. Don't miss all the details of our Thankful and Blessed Thanksgiving Table!
Start with a package of cornhusks from your local grocery store. Tear the cornhusks in half vertically, starting at the top and peeling down. Repeat until you have around 60 cornhusk halves.
Glue the cornhusks around the outside of a 24" grapevine wreath by adding a dab of hot glue to the base of each cornhusk. Overlap each cornhusk slightly as you go. Work your way around the wreath until you have covered the outside edge.
Add a second row of cornhusks by gluing them around the inside edge of the grapevine wreath. This will end up covering almost all of the grapevine wreath underneath so you can no longer see it.
Decorate the inside edge of your wreath with burlap leaves. Add them to the wreath with a dab of hot glue, overlapping them slightly and varying the color and shape of the leaves as you go. You will need two packages of burlap leaves to sufficiently cover the wreath.
Add 24 mini corn embellishments around the inside of the wreath (you will need two packages). To space the corn out evenly, divide the wreath into quarters adding a corn at each point (you can eyeball this), then divide into eighths, adding more corn, and so on until you have added all the corn.
Hang your new cornhusk wreath on the wall. You can add a large galvanized metal "blessed" sign in the middle if you want too! I painted my sign a cream color to make it pop against the dark wall.
