We loved the idea of incorporating a French 75 cocktail in our recent French Chateau Inspired Wedding, but since we are not the biggest fans of gin, we decided to change up the classic recipe and switch out the gin for vodka! As soon as we sipped this delicious mix of champagne, vodka and lemon juice we knew we had a new favorite cocktail! This deliciously refreshing, citrusy drink is sure to make your guests pucker with delight!
- 1 oz. Vodka
- 1/2 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 tsp. Simple Syrup
- 3 oz. Champagne
- Sugar for Rim
Begin by sliding a lemon wedge around the rim of the Classic Champagne Glass and then dip it onto a plate of sugar. This will give the drink a sweet taste to go with the tartness of the lemon.
Pour the vodka, lemon juice and simple syrup into an ice-filled Drink Shaker and shake until mixed thoroughly.
Pour into a sugar-rimmed Classic Champagne Glass and top with champagne.
